Quick Functional Test (Do This Now)
- Go to Posts โ Add New
- Title it:
โRound Rock Test Articleโ - In the right sidebar, check the box for Round Rock under Community
- Publish
Now go to:
/community/round-rock/
If you see that post there โ your system is working.
Next: Make Sure Your Custom Post Types Work Too
Repeat the same test for one of your custom post types:
Example:
- Add a Resource
- Assign it to Round Rock
- Publish
- Visit /community/round-rock/
If it does NOT appear, that means:
Your custom post type is not set to show in taxonomy archives.
Thatโs fixable โ but test first.
Important Editorial Rule Going Forward
Every piece of content must have:
1 Community selected
If you skip it, it wonโt show anywhere local.
This becomes part of your publishing discipline.
Now letโs zoom out strategically.
Right now you have:
Structure built
Communities created
Menu navigation working
You are officially ready to begin adding content.
Before you start adding a lot of content, one question:
Do you want:
โข Community pages to mix all content types together (news + events + resources all in one stream)?
Or
โข Community pages broken into sections (news section, events section, etc.)?
