Community Ambassador – The Local Post
Help Strengthen Your Community’s Voice
The Local Post is building a network of trusted Community Ambassadors to help ensure that accurate, relevant, and timely information is shared within each local community we serve.
Community Ambassadors are civic-minded connectors who care about their neighborhoods and want to help neighbors stay informed about events, opportunities, resources, and local happenings.
This is a volunteer leadership role rooted in service, visibility, and local engagement.
Role Overview
A Community Ambassador serves as the local point of connection for a specific city, neighborhood, or community area.
Ambassadors help:
• Surface important local events and updates
• Encourage organizations to submit information
• Strengthen relationships within the community
• Help maintain the accuracy and relevance of local listings
This role does not require journalism experience or technical website skills.
Key Responsibilities
Community Connection
• Build and maintain relationships with local nonprofits, schools, churches, small businesses, and civic groups
• Encourage organizations to submit events and updates through The Local Post
Content Awareness
• Identify local happenings that should be listed
• Flag inaccurate or inappropriate submissions
Light Promotion
• Share relevant Local Post content within community groups when appropriate
• Help spread awareness of the platform as a trusted local resource
Time Commitment
• Approximately 2–4 hours per month
• Quarterly virtual check-in
• Optional attendance at occasional community events
This role is designed to be meaningful but manageable.
